New York City FC News Release

New York City FC today announced a partnership with NYC Votes to encourage and increase civic participation and awareness for New Yorkers in the US electoral process ahead of the upcoming primary election on June 25.

NYC Votes is an initiative of the New York City Campaign Finance Board, a nonpartisan, independent city agency that helps bridge the gaps that have historically made it harder for New Yorkers to participate in democracy. NYC Votes is on the streets in communities helping New Yorkers get registered, make a plan to vote, and build power through civic engagement.

“Every New Yorker should be able to engage meaningfully in our local democracy. At NYC Votes, our job is to meet New Yorkers where they are – whether it’s online, on the sidewalks, on public transit, or watching their favorite hometown soccer team – and equip them with the knowledge and resources to vote,” said Paul S. Ryan, executive director of the New York City Campaign Finance Board, of which NYC Votes is an initiative. “NYC Votes is thrilled to partner with New York City FC to help empower soccer fans from across the five boroughs with the information they need to make their voices heard.”

Early voting for the primary election begins on Saturday, June 15 and runs through Sunday, June 23. Primary Election Day is on the following Tuesday, June 25. To find your poll site, register to vote, learn how to vote, and more, visit nycvotes.org.
