The Women’s Cup returns to Louisville this summer with three names on the global football stage set to join Racing Louisville for the four-team tournament at Lynn Family Stadium.

Italian powerhouse Juventus and South American champion Palmeiras will play in what will be the third edition of The Women’s Cup in Louisville. A fourth international team will be confirmed soon. The event will play out as a knockout tournament over two days, with the semifinals set for Aug. 9 and final set for Aug. 13.


The Kansas City Current and CPKC Stadium will host the second TWC USA event following the Louisville tournament. Both tournaments will feature a $100,000 prize pool.

“We are proud to bring again the best of international women’s soccer to Louisville with this fourth summer edition of The Women’s Cup that will be followed by an exciting tournament in Kansas City,” said JP Reynal, chief executive officer of The Women’s Cup. “As the women’s game is growing globally, we are extending our footprint to create opportunities for teams from different continents to play attractive games.”

“We’re excited to host The Women’s Cup for the third time in our club’s history,” said Racing Louisville general manager Ryan Dell. “Tournaments like this continue to enhance the exposure for women’s football across the globe – that we are hosting this event shows our dedication to playing a key role in growing our game. We look forward to welcoming our three visitors to Louisville.”

Racing Louisville and Palmeiras will play at 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, in the second semifinal following the first semifinal between Juventus and the soon-to-be-announced fourth team that kicks off at 5 p.m. The winners of those two games will play in the final at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, with the third-place game set to kick off at 5 p.m.

Tickets for the event are on sale now at TheWomensCup.world and RacingLouFC.com. Racing Louisville FC season ticket members can expect an email to opt in to their regular seats.

Juventus joins the mix as the most accomplished of the three visiting teams for The Women’s Cup, with five Serie A trophies to couple with three Coppa Italia crowns. Le Bianconere feature Canadian gold medalist Julia Grosso and 2017 European champion Lineth Beerensteyn, a Dutch forward.
