Bay FC Announces 2024 Preseason Roster to Open Training Camp

Bay FC Selects Five Players in 2024 NWSL Draft

San Francisco – Bay FC, the Bay Area’s new women’s professional soccer franchise in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), today announced their 2024 preseason roster as the team opens training camp on Jan. 23 in Santa Barbara, Calif.


The team will take part in the first ever Coachella Valley Invitational for NWSL teams from Feb. 19-24 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, Calif., alongside Angel City FC, Portland Thorns FC and San Diego Wave FC. Bay FC will square off against San Diego on Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 12 p.m. (Pacific) before facing Angel City on Saturday, Feb. 24; kickoff is set for 1 p.m. (Pacific). The first annual invitational will be open to fans with passes on sale at www.CoachellaValleyInvitational.com.

The NWSL regular season will kick off on March 16. In total, each team will compete in 26 regular season matches, 13 matches at home and 13 matches on the road. In addition to the CBA-mandated league break from July 8 to 14, the NWSL will break from league play from July 15 to Aug. 18 while the Paris 2024 Olympics are staged. During this time, the league will organize a tournament, featuring international participants and all 14 NWSL clubs, beginning the weekend of July 19-21. Further details regarding the competition and format are forthcoming.

As part of the league’s expanded playoff format, eight clubs will qualify for the 2024 NWSL Playoffs, which will now consist of four quarterfinal matches and eliminate byes to the semifinals. The quarterfinal round will take place the weekend of Nov. 9-10 ahead of the semifinal round set for the weekend of Nov.16-17. The 2024 campaign will conclude with the NWSL Championship on Nov. 23.
