LOS ANGELES – Angel City Football Club (ACFC) announced today that defender Megan Reid has re-signed with the club through 2025. Reid originally signed with the club after impressing the coaches in camp ahead of their 2022 inaugural season.

“I’m excited to continue my career with ACFC. I’m looking forward to another great season,” said Reid. “I can’t wait to be in front of the best fans in the league and get started with an amazing group of women. Let’s get after it!”

“We’re happy to have Megan back with us as another force to anchor our back line,” stated ACFC General Manager Angela Hucles Mangano. “She provides depth in addition to a level of experience after Angel City’s first season as an Iron Woman.”

Since joining ACFC, Reid has accumulated 2,774 minutes in 31 total matches. In 2023, she compiled 12 interceptions and nine tackles in 15 total matches while battling an injury. In the club’s inaugural season, she played in every minute of every match, making history as ACFC’s first-ever Iron Woman. Prior to her time with the club, Reid briefly played for FC Thisted, a team in Denmark’s top professional division, before trying out with San Diego Wave FC.

A 2017 graduate of University of Virginia, Reid appeared in 101 games for the Cavaliers and earned United Soccer Coaches All-Region second-team selection honors her senior season. After graduating, Reid focused on a career as a firefighter and EMT before returning to soccer, playing for Lamorinda United’s in the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) and helping them win their division.
