CHESTER, Pa. – The Philadelphia Union hosted New York City FC at Subaru Park on Wednesday night, falling 2-1. New York opened up the scoring in the second minute with a goal from Alonso Martinez. Hannes Wolf extended New York’s lead in stoppage time of the first half. In the second half, the Union responded when forward Julián Carranza scored his fifth goal of the MLS season in the 47th minute. With the goal, Carranza is now tied for third all-time in goals scored across all competitions with Kacper Przybylko. Despite outshooting New York 24 to 11, the Union could not find the equalizer.


The Union travel to Gillette Stadium to face New England Revolution on Saturday, May 18 (7:30 p.m. ET/ Apple TV).
