Nick Markanich Named to Week 5 USL Championship Team of the Week

Battery Announce Complete Coaching Staff for 2023 Season

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The USL Championship announced Tuesday that Battery forward Nick Markanich was named to the league’s Week 5 Team of the Week. It is Markanich’s second consecutive performance to land him on the Team of the Week.


The 23-year-old scored once and had a strong all-around performance as the Battery took a 3-2 win against Hartford Athletic. He recorded five shots, two chances created, eight duels won, three tackles won and completed 16 of 19 passes.

Markanich also earned Team of the Week honors in his last round of league action, the 3-0 victory over the Tampa Bay Rowdies.

The Black and Yellow will look to build upon their early success so far this season, with a pair of away matches this week and three home matches to close out April, starting on April 22 against Louisville City FC.
