Man Utd decide to ‘cash in on’ duo but Ten Hag doesn’t want to ‘weaken’ squad in January

Man Utd defender Harry Maguire looks unhappy on the bench

Premier League side Man Utd will allow Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay to leave in the summer transfer window, according to reports.

Erik ten Hag made big changes to the squad in the summer with Christian Eriksen, Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez among the new signings who have made a big difference this season.

Maguire and McTominay have seen less playing time as a result and there have been rumours that both could leave in the near future.

“I said ‘what about the leadership’? What about Maguire what about David de Gea? What about all the senior guys, why is it always Pogba? That’s it, that’s all I said.

“I get to training, phone’s ringing with this number I don’t know. Two or three times this number calls so I think ‘god there must be a problem here’.

“I picked it up and yeah, it was Harry Maguire’s agent saying ‘you can’t say this, you can’t do that’.

“I’ve never said this out loud before by the…
