FC Dallas sign defender Marco Farfan to new contract through 2025 MLS season

FC Dallas have signed defender Marco Farfan to a new three-year contract, the club announced Thursday.

Farfan’s new deal keeps him at Toyota Stadium through the 2025 MLS season, with the club holding a further option on 2026.

The 24-year-old left-back joined Dallas from LAFC back in February in a swap deal that saw Ryan Hollingshead move the other way to the eventual MLS Cup winners. Farfan enjoyed a strong debut season in Texas, playing 34 times across all competitions, scoring once and providing three assists to help his new side into the MLS Cup Playoffs.

Prior to signing for Dallas, Farfan – a one-time United States international – clocked up over 60 appearances across all competitions for LAFC and the Portland Timbers combined, winning the MLS is Back Tournament with the latter in 2020.

Farfan’s one senior cap for the United States came from the bench in a 6-0 friendly win over El Salvador in December 2020 having previously played four times for the Stars and Stripes across various youth levels.
