Roma and Crystal Palace could reportedly negotiate a shock swap deal for Wilfried Zaha by sending young striker Felix Afena-Gyan in the other direction. 

Jose Mourinho is a huge admirer of Zaha, who has just one year left on his contract at Selhurst Park and has long been touted for a move away from Palace. 

Eagles manager Patrick Vieira may even be open to selling his most prized asset now instead of him potentially leaving on a free transfer next season.

The 29-year-old forward has also said on many previous occasions that he wants to play at the highest level.

It would be a huge gamble for Palace to allow the club’s top goalscorer, who notched 14 goals in the Premier League last season, depart in part exchange for an as yet unproven talent – despite rising up through the ranks in Serie A last term.

The 19-year-old has scored just two goals in 22 appearances for the Giallorossi since making his first-team debut last October. 

He has, however, recently penned a new four-year deal with Roma, keeping him at the Italian outfit until the summer of 2026.

Afena-Gyan only joined the Italian club at the start of 2021 and progressed rapidly from their Under-18 side to the senior squad under Mourinho.
