Real Madrid are 'worried' about losing Toni Kroos for free, with one year left on his deal

Real Madrid ‘are worried Toni Kroos could walk out of the club for free next year with the German rejecting a new deal’… and the midfielder will ‘wait to see how next season goes before making a decision’

  •  German star Toni Kroos has just one year left on his contract at Real Madrid
  •  The club are reportedly ‘worried’ he might leave for free by turning down talks
  •  Zinedine Zidane also left the club with one year on his playing contract in 2006

Real Madrid are reportedly ‘worried’ that German star Toni Kroos will walk out of the Bernabeu for free after rejecting a new deal – with the World Cup winner set to assess how the new campaign goes before making a decision on his future.

Kroos only started three of the last six games for Real Madrid last season under manager Carlo Ancelotti, as the team won the Champions League for the fifth time in nine seasons.

The 32-year-old’s current contract expires next summer, and Mundo Deportivo believe that Madrid are concerned Kroos could leave the club for nothing if he does not feel ‘comfortable’ in the Spanish capital.

Kroos could make the decision to leave the Bernabeu if he stops feeling ‘comfortable’ about things in the Spanish capital, or if he loses a guaranteed slot in the first team.

There is no guarantee of a starting role with the team in transition, and recent purchases of Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni, thought to be the future of Real Madrid.
