Wolves defender Dion Sanderson is attracting enquiries after his season on loan in the Championship at QPR.

The 22-year-old made 28 appearances during a testing campaign under Mark Warburton at Loftus Road that ultimately saw them fall short of their goal of reaching the play-offs.

Despite that Sanderson has emerged with enough credit to draw attention from rival Championship sides keen to take him either on another season loan or to buy him outright from Wolves.

The Molineux club wanted to see how Sanderson kicked on this season after previous impressive loan spells with Sunderland and Birmingham City.

He was recalled by the club from Birmingham in January as they contemplated using him in their first team amid an injury crisis, however, financial constraints mean Wolves will consider offers this summer for a number of their first team squad.

Sanderson, nephew of former Olympic javelin gold medallist Tessa Sanderson, signed a new four-year contract last July and will be looking to ascertain where he fits in Wolves’ plans before sorting out his next step in the coming weeks.
