Liverpool are reportedly still alive and ‘dangerous’ for winger Ismaila Sarr but will need to play catch up in negotiations.

The Reds have long been linked with Sarr after he burst onto the scene in English football following his 2019 transfer from Stade Rennes. He scored five Premier League goals, including a brace to help end the unbeaten run of Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Then he was on fire in the Championship last season, registering 23 goal contributions in 39 league appearances.

It hasn’t been a great campaing for him or his Watford team-mates back in the top flight, though.

Injury has limited the 24-year-old to just 16 outings, but he has scored a further five times, as the Hornets look headed for relegation.

Sarr was able to play a small part in Senegal’s Africa Cup of Nations success earlier this year.

Now it seems the next step of his career is on the horizon. His agent Thierno Seydi told Afrique Sports: “The only evidence is that I think he has chances to leave regardless of what happens between now and the end of the season with Watford.

“That’s how it’s planned with those in charge. 

“It’s clear there are chances he leaves this year from Watford.”

AC Milan sprung into action upon hearing that news and listed Sarr as transfer target.

However, an update from Corriere Dello Sport claims that Liverpool remain in the fight for his signature.
