Langley, BC – Vancouver FC heads to York United FC to play in their third CPL regular season match of the year. Here is everything you need to know about the game, which kicks off at 4 p.m. PT in York, ON:
MATCH STORY: Vancouver FC continues their trek out East after a difficult loss in the Canadian Championship preliminary round to Cavalry FC.
The team is heading back to a historic pitch for the Eagles as York Lions Stadium was where VFC registered its first goal and win in franchise history. Vancouver scored in every contest against York in 2023 but was only able to secure three points in their inaugural season against the Nine Stripes.
However, York has had a rocky start to their 2024 CPL campaign, registering two losses and only scoring one goal. With a newly constructed squad, which includes the likes of former-York players Paris Gee and Niko Giantsopoulos, Vancouver will be looking to maintain its CPL regular season record and stay at the top of the table.
