Seven Blue Devils Set for 2024 NWSL Campaign


DURHAM – A total of seven former Duke women’s soccer standouts are set for the 2024 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) campaign, which opens Friday, March 15. 
 
The Blue Devils earning roster spots for the 2024 season include – Tess Boade (Bay FC), Michelle Cooper (KC Current), Imani Dorsey (Utah Royals FC), Sophie Jones (Chicago Red Stars), Lily Nabet (Angel City FC), Quinn (Seattle Reign FC) and Ella Stevens (NJ/NY Gotham FC). 
 
The 2024 NWSL Challenge Cup opens action Friday as NJ/NY Gotham FC faces San Diego Wave FC at 8 p.m., on Prime.  The regular season kicks off Saturday with Kansas City traveling to Portland at 1 p.m., on ABC.  The Utah Royals also hit the road for Chicago Red Stars at 7:30 p.m., on ION.  On March 17, Seattle Reign FC will play at Washington Spirit at 6 p.m., on NWSL+ and Angel City FC opens at Bay FC at 7:30 p.m., on NWSL+.
 
All teams will play a 26-match schedule with a break from July 7 through Aug. 23 for the Olympics. A total of 121 NWSL matches will be aired during the season on CBS, ESPN, Prime Video and ION.  The remaining matches will be available for free at NWSL+.
 
Duke also features four former standouts playing overseas – Natasha Anasi (Norway), Mia Gyau (France), Kayla McCoy (Spain) and Toni Payne (Spain). McCoy (Jamaica) and Payne (Nigeria) have also been competing with their home countries for various international events.
