KANSAS CITY – The Kansas City Current today unveiled vibrant new primary and secondary uniforms ahead of an historic season in 2024 as the club opens CPKC Stadium, the first stadium purpose-built for a women’s professional sports team in the world.

This season, the kit features the Current’s new Front of Kit and Official Charity Partner, United Way of Greater Kansas City. As part of the multi-year agreement with United Way, the Kansas City Current will donate a portion of all kit sales to United Way of Greater Kansas City.

“We are thrilled to unveil our new primary and secondary kits for such a monumental season in women’s sports,” said Current Vice President of Marketing, Jocelyn Monroe. “The thoughtful and intentional design reflects the club’s identity in multiple ways. It provides a sense of joyful expression, it celebrates the current energy around the team and the Kansas City community, and it draws inspiration from the landscape of the Missouri River.”

Inspired by the setting of the Missouri River and Kansas City, the new collection emphasizes pride in the Kansas City community and belief in the team – celebrating the connection between athletes and fans, all while ensuring players are sporting the latest in performance innovation while they play.

The Primary Kit is where the club’s unique story comes to life. It was developed for the team’s new home, CPKC Stadium, the first stadium purpose-built for a women’s professional sports team in the world. The team’s signature Heartland Red dominates the uniform, but the vertical Teal stripes rise along the sides of the jersey, representing the power of the Current. The stadium, with the Missouri River as its powerfully majestic backdrop, gives new meaning to “Teal Rising”. As reflected on KC’s crest, three rivers wind across the front of the kit and eventually merge to become even stronger together.

The Current will debut their primary kit in the club’s season opener and inaugural match at CPKC Stadium March 16. Broadcast coverage of the historic match begins on ABC at 11:30 a.m. CT.

The Current’s 2024 Secondary Kit features a gradient shift from dark to light using the team’s signature Teal to speak to the strength of the collective, capturing the energy and optimism that will reverberate throughout Kansas City in the team’s inaugural season at CPKC Stadium.
