PITTSBURGH – The Pitt men’s soccer program placed a program record 18 student-athletes on the 2023 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Men’s Soccer Team, as announced by the conference office on Thursday morning. The 18 honorees are the most by any team in the conference.
Six Panthers are repeat honorees including Guilherme Feitosa (three-time honoree), Jackson Gilman (two-time honoree), Noah Hall (two-time honoree), Mateo Maillefaud (two-time honoree), Luis Sahmkow (two-time honoree) and Michael Sullivan (two-time honoree). The 12 Panthers earning the recognition for the first time are Cabral Carter, Raphael Cilli, Zahir Dyke, Santiago Ferreira, Fabian Grau, Luka Kozomara, Mathys Lefebvre, Eben McIntyre, Felipe Mercado, Massimo Murania, Joao Souza and Albert Thorsen.
Since the 2016 season, Jay Vidovich‘s first as head coach of the Panthers, 50 student-athletes have been named to the All-ACC Academic Men’s Soccer Team with one earning ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year (Noel – 2020).
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career for undergraduate students. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
