Huntsville, Ala. – Huntsville City Football Club announced today the matchups and kickoff times for the inaugural “Huntsville City FC Blastoff Battle” Invitational taking place Presidents Day Weekend (Feb. 16 – 18) at the Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium. The invitational will be the first chance for fans to see Huntsville City FC in action in 2024.
Huntsville City FC will kick off their participation on Friday, Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. CT by hosting FC Tulsa of the USL Championship. They will return to the pitch on Sunday, Feb. 18 at 2:15 p.m. CT to close out the tournament against MLS NEXT Pro newcomer Chattanooga FC. Also participating in the invitational is South Georgia Tormenta FC of the USL League One, who will take on Chattanooga FC on Feb. 16 at 4 p.m. CT and FC Tulsa on Feb. 18 at 11 a.m. CT.
General admission tickets for the Huntsville City FC Blastoff Battle Invitational are still available here. At $25, General admission weekend passes give fans access to all four matches, while $15 single day passes provide fans tickets to two matches, either on Feb. 16 or 18.
Along with the “Blastoff Battle”, Huntsville City FC announced the addition of five preseason matches to their schedule including an open to the public outing against the University of Alabama in Huntsville Men’s Varsity Soccer Team at 2 p.m. CT on March 9 at the John Hunt State Championship Soccer Stadium (2151 Airport Rd. SW, Huntsville, AL 35801), three closed-door matches at the Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium against Chattanooga Red Wolves (USL League One), Birmingham Legion (USL Championship), and Atlanta United 2 (MLS NEXT Pro), and a closed-door match at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. Against Tampa Bay Rowdies (USL Championship). Ticketing information for the match against University of Alabama in Huntsville will be made public in the upcoming weeks.
Huntsville City FC will be kicking off their second season in MLS NEXT Pro in March. Details regarding the regular season schedule will be unveiled in the coming weeks.
