Tottenham left-back Sergio Reguilon in talks with Brentford over loan deal

Former Real Madrid defender Sergio Reguilon could be set to join Brentford on a loan deal

  • Reguilon came to Spurs from Real Madrid after going on loan at Sevilla
  • He has fallen down the pecking order since Postecoglou’s arrival with Udogie

Tottenham left-back Sergio Reguilon will ‘consider his options’ as he looks set to leave the Lilywhites this transfer window.

The 27-year-old defender made a strong start to life at Spurs after being signed from Real Madrid after he went on loan to Sevilla in 2019.

However, after falling out of favour with prior manager Antonio Conte and being loaned to Atletico Madrid for a season, the Spaniard has been yet to nail down a starting place.

With Ange Postecoglou now favouring Destiny Udogie, Reguilon hoped to impress on a loan deal with Man United.

But, that was cancelled at the beginning of the transfer window which is now allowing him the chance to speak with other clubs.

Many clubs have reportedly shown interest with Brentford the most keen. The Bees have even held talks, it has been claimed.

Meanwhile, for Spurs their recent signing of Dragusin from Genoa has signalled their intent this January transfer window.

Tottenham are said to be eyeing a move for Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher as well, but it remains to be seen whether Pochettino will want to sell.

The former Crystal Palace loanee has been the captain for the Blues so far this season, but he could be sold for financial reasons.
