Tottenham are considering an offer for one of Sevilla’s star centre-backs as they look to bring in defensive signings this window, according to reports. 

Ange Postecoglou‘s side have made a bright start to the January transfer window, with RB Leipzig forward due to arrive in London on Sunday to finalise terms and undergo a medical ahead of a loan move to Spurs. 

The north London side have also been in negotiations with Genoa over defender Radu Dragusin and are closing in on his signing. 

However, reports in Spain now claim that Postecoglou’s side are also taking interest in one of Sevilla’s defenders ahead of a busy winter window. 

According to El Chiringuito, Tottenham are considering a move for Sevilla defender Loic Bade, who only joined the club on a permanent deal in the summer.

Bade spent the beginning of the 2022-23 season on loan at Nottingham Forest however, after failing to make an appearance, was recalled and loaned to Sevilla. 

After impressing in his 19 matches on loan, Bade signed for the Spanish side on a permanent deal and hasn’t looked back since. 

The 23-year-old has been a mainstay in their defence throughout the season, picking up one assist during his 11 LaLiga appearances this term. 

Meanwhile at Tottenham, they are expecting to bring in at least one new face in the coming days as Timo Werner closes in on a move to the club. 

Werner was left out of Leipzig’s 1-0 friendly win over St Gallen on Saturday as coach Marco Rose confirmed: ‘It’s right that Timo wants to go on loan. 

‘Timo would like to go to the European Championships. We wish him all the best and are keeping our fingers crossed for him.’

The 27-year-old had made 14 appearances, predominantly from the bench this season and scored twice.
