Newcastle’s hopes of landing Kalvin Phillips have been boosted by reports that Juventus could end their pursuit of him.

Eddie Howe‘s team have been interested in the Manchester City midfielder for some time and Phillips is keen to get more playing time ahead of Euro 2024. 

Phillips has started two games this season and has only managed to come off the bench in the Premier League four times. 

Juventus had been keen to bolster their midfield with him as Paul Pogba and Nicola Fagiolo both face long-term suspensions.

However, Fabrizio Romano reports that their infatuation has cooled after discussions over a loan fee and salary with Manchester City.
