Kansas City Current Announces Partnership with Great Clips

KANSAS CITY – Today, the Kansas City Current have announced a new multi-year partnership with Great Clips, the world’s largest salon brand. Great Clips will be an Official Partner of the Kansas City Current.


As part of this partnership, Great Clips will work alongside KC Current key partners to expand their impact within the community, including participation in the Sideline the Stigma program presented by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City. Local Great Clips salons will encourage program registration and provide promotional offers to youth participants in the Sideline the Stigma program, to raise awareness for behavioral health. This effort focuses on removing the stigma surrounding mental health and promoting resources to help Kansas Citians. “Great Clips has always worked to strengthen the people and communities that it serves,” said Mohammed Azaz, Great Clips franchisee with 24 Kansas City salons. “Through this new partnership with the Current, all of the Kansas City Franchisees are looking forward to making an impact in our community by helping to remove the stigma around mental health. We’re also looking forward to engaging with fans throughout the season both in our salons and in the new stadium.”

An Official Partner of the Kansas City Current, Great Clips will present “Greatest Clips” during halftime of home KC Current matches at CPKC Stadium, the first stadium purpose-built for a women’s professional team in the world. “Greatest Clips” highlights the top clips of the first half at KC Current home matches, which there have been no shortage of through the first two home games. Later this season, Great Clips will also hold a month-long sweepstakes in-stadium and one winner will be selected for a VIP experience at the last home match of the regular season.

This partnership includes the opportunity to launch KC Current and Sideline the Stigma co-branded poster campaigns in the 64 Great Clips salon locations within the Greater Kansas City area, expanding the club’s reach and involvement with the community in a unique way.
