RENTON, WASH. – Following a 3-2 win over the Philadelphia Union on Tuesday to end a two-match road trip, Seattle Sounders FC returns home to host the LA Galaxy on Sunday, May 5 on the Emerald Queen Casino Pitch at Lumen Field (3:45 p.m. PT / Apple TV – Watch Free, FS1, 93.3 KJR FM, SiriusXM FC, El Rey 1360 AM).

Sunday’s match is the second time that Seattle and LA have faced off this season, with LA defeating Seattle 1-0 earlier this year at Dignity Health Sports Park. Seattle currently sits in 12th place in the Western Conference with nine points. The Galaxy is tied for third place in the Western Conference with 18 points. LA is currently coming off a 2-0 loss to Austin FC at Q2 Stadium last weekend.

Tacoma Defiance midfielders Georgi Minoungou and Kalani Kossa-Rienzi, as well as forward Osaze De Rosario, are available for selection via short-term loans.

Following Sunday’s matchup, Seattle begins its 2024 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup campaign, hosting Louisville City FC on Wednesday, May 8 at Starfire Stadium (7:30 p.m. PT / USOpenCup.com, 950 KJR AM).

ALUMNI OF THE MATCH – PEPE FERNANDEZ

In celebration of Seattle’s 50th anniversary, the club is honoring a team alum every home match, with former Sounders forward Pepe Fernandez being honored on Sunday. Fernandez was part of Seattle’s inaugural NASL team in 1974 and played with the team until 1976, making 17 appearances and scoring two goals.
