Chihuahua, Chih.- In an exciting match that kept the audience on the edge of their seats, Chihuahua Savage fell 8 goals to 5 against Monterrey Flash in the return of the Major Arena Soccer League after the winter break. The Arena Corner Sport hosted the third edition of the “Mexican Classic” in this season, which exploded from the early minutes of the match. Professional boxer Pedro Castañeda opened the scoring by finding a rebound inside the box. Bryan “Flaco” Macias would later score two goals to close a perfect first 15 minutes. In the second quarter, Erick Rosas found a live ball that he managed to finish, bringing the “Destello Regio” within two goals at 2-1. Later, Hugo Puentes and Bryan Macias increased the lead for the Savages to 4-1. However, Edgar Gonzáles and Alexis Espinoza shortened the gap to just one goal before halftime. The third period began with a goal from Hugo Puentes, making the score 5-3. All subsequent goals were of Monterrey Flash origin. Hiram Ruiz, Irvin Mojica, Ismael Rojo, Alexis Espinoza, and Christian Hernández sealed the victory for the visitors. Both teams will face each other again on Sunday, January 7, at the Arena Borregos in Monterrey, Nuevo León, at 3:35 pm.
