Washington Suffers 1-0 Loss At UCLA

San Diego State

LOS ANGELES – UW played solid defense but an early second half goal by UCLA gave the Bruins the 1-0 win over the Huskies on Thursday night at Wallis Annenberg Stadium.

The Huskies drop to 5-6-5 overall on the season and 2-4-2 in conference action.

UCLA came out and outshot the Huskies in the first half 10 to four but were unable to find the back of the net for a scoreless first 45 minutes.

The Bruins opened the scoring in the second half in the 47th minute.

Washington continued to fight back putting three shots on goal but all of them were saved by the UCLA keeper to keep the Bruins’ one goal lead. The Huskies were able to force a couple of chances in the final 20 minutes of play but could not connect on an equalizer.

Up next, the Huskies conclude the weekend road series at San Diego State on Sunday afternoon. Kickoff from SDSU Sports Deck is set for 3 p.m. and streaming on Aztec Digital Network.
