Reds have ‘unexpected ally’ who can ‘rave’ about Klopp amid £70m pursuit

Alexis Mac Allister and Adam Lallana celebrate a goal for Brighon

Brighton’s Adam Lallana can convince Alexis Mac Allister to make his current team worse by joining his former team Liverpool, a report has claimed.

Lallana left the Reds to join Brighton on a free transfer in 2020.

The 34-year-old has only managed 16 Premier League appearances this season as he continues to struggle with injuries.

Albion have not missed him whatsoever, with Mac Allister stepping up his game to another level.

Having won the World Cup with Argentina last December, the 24-year-old is enjoying the best season of his career and is being linked with a move to Liverpool and Manchester United as a result.

Valued at €42million (£36.6m) by Transfermarkt, many reports say he will cost as much as £70m, while Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb recently claimed Brighton and Liverpool have agreed a fee worth £53m.

This is probably not true and has been denied by reputable journalist Andy Naylor, who says the Seagulls have received no contact from the Reds, and are not expecting any contact.

With Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp looking to bring Mac Allister to Anfield, he could have a secret weapon at the Amex who can help make a deal happen.

Fichajes say Klopp made Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham his top target, but the 19-year-old will go to Real Madrid, meaning Mac Allister is now his priority.

The German manager has an ‘unexpected ally’ in Brighton playmaker Lallana – who spent six years at Liverpool.

The 34-year-old can ‘convince’ Mac Allister to join the Reds and ‘would be raving about Klopp’s team to his teammate’.

To suggest Lallana would ‘favour his former team’ over the one he is contracted to play for until 2024 is…ridiculous.

Lallana did help convince James Milner to join Brighton when his Liverpool contract expires at the end of the season, according to Football Insider.

Klopp is reportedly keen to keep hold of Milner, but the Reds hierarchy do not want to keep hold of him.

Fabrizio Romano has said Here We Go and a deal for Albion to sign the 37-year-old seems nailed on.

Having racked up a whopping 616 Premier League appearances, Milner will bring a wealth of experience with him to the south coast, which could be extremely crucial should the Seagulls qualify for European football.

A Football Insider report said Milner ‘reached out’ to his former Liverpool teammate, Lallana, who convinced the experienced midfielder to join when his Reds contract runs out in the summer.

Lallana ‘spoke highly of the…
