Borussia Monchengladbach confirm Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United target Marcus Thuram will LEAVE the club on a free transfer this summer – with Ramy Bensebaini set to exit alongside the forward at the end of the season

  • The 25-year-old joined the club from Guingamps in the summer of 2019
  • Son of French World Cup winner Lilian Thuram attracted attention at Qatar 2022

Borussia Monchengladbach have confirmed the exit of French forward Marcus Thuram at the end of the season.

The player – and son of Les Bleus legend Lilian Thuram – had previously refused a number of contract offers from the Bundesliga outfit, and will subsequently leave on a free transfer

Thuram has been at the club since July 2019, when he was signed from French outfit Guingamp for £8.3million (€9.5m).

After travelling to Qatar as a last-minute addition to Didier Deschamps’ France side, Thuram made five appearances and came on as a substitute in the final against Argentina to provide the assist for Kylian Mbappe‘s equaliser at 2-2.

Since his return from the tournament, the player has been the focus of attention from international sides such as Chelsea and Arsenal in the last year of his contract
