Academy Update: March 2023 Players of the Month

With the third month of 2023 already in the record books, let’s dive into the players from Inter Miami CF Academy presented by Baptist Health that were selected as Players of the Month after excelling in March.


Let’s get the ball rolling with our youngest age bracket, with U-13 goalkeeper Connor Dale being named as Player of the Month for March.

“Connor’s discipline, attitude, and love of the game see him continue to get better under the care of our academy goalkeeper coach Adam Lewis. We are all excited about what lies ahead in the future for Connor and are extremely proud for him to earn the Player of the Month recognition,” said Academy goalkeeper coach Cameron Sauro.

Moving onto our Academy’s mid-level age groups, it was U-14 team defender Leandro Padilla who got the nod as March Player of the Month.

“Leandro has been training and playing up an age group with the U-15 team and has been performing well on and off the field. He has continuously been evolving tactically and technically and has been an important player in both age groups,” said U-15 team Academy head coach Pedro Cavalcanti.

Lastly, to close out our list of March Players of the Month, U-19 defender Kevin Gorbell was selected as Player of the Month from our eldest Academy sides.

“This season Kevin has been one of the top performers in our U-19 Academy team. Kevin has the great quality of making the most of each day; his discipline, professionalism, and ambition allow him to constantly improve. His performances in the U-19 Academy setup allowed him to be promoted to train with our MLS NEXT Pro team and sparked the interest of some of the top universities soccer programs in the country,” said U-19 Academy team head coach Victor Pastora. “This month of March Kevin committed to UNC Chapel Hill; a top academic institution, and one of the top soccer programs in the country. Kevin joined our academy in our inaugural season anf it has been great to witness his growth into a confident, respectful, competitive young man. His commitment to academic excellence and discipline to become a better player each day made it possible for him to achieve this upcoming opportunity. We are proud of you Kevin, congratulations to you and your family”.
