Emile Smith Rowe has opened up on the two players who have had a transformative impact at Arsenal.

The Gunners finished fifth last season, outside the Champions League places, after being pipped to a top-four spot by bitter rivals Tottenham.

But this season has been different, with Mikel Arteta’s men topping the Premier League table by eight points – albeit they have played one game more than the chasing Manchester City in second.

A rejuvenated Arsenal have 10 games left to secure their first league title in almost 20 years, since the ‘Invincibles’ season of 2003-04, and Smith Rowe told the Sun that two stars in particular have massively improved the club’s mentality.

He said: ‘(Oleksandr) Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus coming in felt like it changed the whole dynamic.

‘They’ve been there, they know what it’s like to win stuff. I definitely say a lot of it was down to them coming in because their mentality is unbelievable. 

‘Zinchenko is one of the best technical players I’ve seen. I can’t believe City let them go.’

Arsenal splashed out £45m on Brazilian striker Jesus and £30m on Ukrainian left back Zinchenko from champions Manchester City.

Both have significant trophy-winning pedigree with Pep Guardiola’s side, a mentality they have evidently transferred to the north London side. 

Smith Rowe, who has missed much of this season after surgery on a groin injury and lost his left-wing starting spot to Gabriel Martinelli, is now back…
