Haaland ‘leak’ increases Man City ‘concern’ with rivals in ‘pole’ position to make €240m signing

Haaland could leave Man City

‘Operation Erling Haaland’ will reportedly be ‘reactivated’ in 2024 and Manchester City are ‘concerned’ that the ‘Norwegian killer’ will leave the club.

The prolific striker joined Man City from Borussia Dortmund last summer for around £51m.

Some have boldly argued that City are not as good a team with Haaland involved but he has been in stunning goalscoring form this season.

He has already broken a few records as he has netted 42 goals in 37 appearances for Man City across all competitions.

Haaland penned a contract until 2027 but it has been predicted that he could leave Man City in 2024 when his release clause becomes active.

Spanish outlet AS are reporting that ‘operation Haaland’ is a ‘priority objective’ for Real Madrid for the ‘summer of 2024’. They are of the understanding that his release clause is ‘in a range that goes from 220 to 240 million euros’.

The report claims that the timing of Haaland’s release clause is ‘perfect’ for Real Madrid. Karim Benzema ‘will be offered’ a new contract until 2024 and the Spanish giants will be in ‘pole position’ to sign the Man City star as a ‘star replacement’ for the Ballon d’Or winner.

A transfer in 2024 will ‘depend on whether the Norwegian killer really wants a change of scenery’. But it is noted that Real Madrid will have time to activate his release clause as it is ‘maintained for the years 2025 and 2026’.

Real Madrid have ‘exact knowledge of Haaland contractual situation’. Man City have ‘concerns’ about the forward’s future and they wanted to make third parties believe that his ‘release clause did not exist’. This was done to no avail as the details have been ‘leaked’.

The La Liga outfit are ‘beginning to consider the possibility of bringing Haaland, Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr together’.

Mbappe is due to be out of contract in 2024 and it is noted that Real Madrid ‘will have freed up a large part of its salary bill’ by the time they can sign the PSG sensation and Haaland.

Speaking earlier this month, Haaland’s agent – Rafaela Pimenta – admitted that it is a “dream for the players” to one day play for Real Madrid.

“There’s the Premier League and then there’s also Madrid,” Pimenta said.

“They have something of their own that is also the dream for the players.

“Madrid keeps this magic going. They don’t have the weekly competitions, but they have the Champions League.”

Pimenta added that…
