CARY, N.C. – North Carolina FC announces the signing of goalkeeper Trevor Mulqueen for the 2023 USL League One season. The transaction is pending league and federation approval.

“I am beyond grateful to sign my first professional contract for NCFC,” Mulqueen said. “I want to thank the coaches and my new teammates at NCFC for showing me what an amazing club this is and I can’t wait to start winning together.”

Mulqueen had spent a portion of the preseason on trial with NCFC, training with the first team and appearing in preseason matches. His impressive performances in practice and matches earned him his first professional contract.

“We are very excited for Trevor signing his first professional contract,” said head coach John Bradford. “He has done well since being with us from the start of pre-season and we’re excited to add him to our group of goalkeepers for the 2023 season here at North Carolina FC.”

A native of Bradenton, FL, Mulqueen played collegiate soccer at University of Memphis and East Tennessee State University. His father, Tim, has a long career in coaching, working as a goalkeeping coach with the United States national team, Orlando City, and Memphis 901.

Mulqueen’s signing brings the NCFC roster to 25 full-time professional contracts ahead of the 2023 season. He becomes the third goalkeeper on the roster, joining Nicholas Holliday and Tor Saunders.
