FRESH DE JONG SAGA?
Chelsea want to reignite interest from Premier League clubs in Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong in the summer transfer window, according to reports.

Man Utd spent most of last summer in pursuit of the Netherlands international with the Red Devils and Barca reportedly reaching an agreement in principle over a transfer fee. However, De Jong made it clear that he had no intention of leaving the Catalan giants with the midfielder an integral member of Xavi’s side.

There have been rumours that Man Utd will look to pursue De Jong again in the summer transfer window with some Erik ten Hag looking to move some fringe players on. But Football Insider insists that Chelsea – who also made attempts in the summer to sign De Jong – have made the Barcelona midfielder ‘a priority signing this summer’.

It is claimed that Chelsea ‘remain interested in signing De Jong this summer, with owner Todd Boehly a huge admirer of the midfielder’ and the report hints that Barcelona could be forced to sell because of their financial struggles.

Football Insider also touch on interest from Man Utd with the Premier League giants ‘in the race to sign De Jong this summer, with Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag eager to reunite with his former Ajax star at Old Trafford’.

Speaking about his future earlier this week, De Jong said: “I’m very calm, happy. I want to stay at Barcelona for many more years.”

Man Utd are plotting a record-breaking deal to sign Tottenham striker Harry Kane in the summer transfer window, according to reports.

Kane has scored 20 goals in 27 Premier League matches this season with his two goals in a 3-1 victory over Nottingham Forest on Saturday helping Spurs strengthen their grip on fourth place.

However, it is another trophyless season for Tottenham and Kane after they crashed out both the FA Cup and Champions League within seven days of each other. And many feel Kane will either move this summer to another club or renew his contract at Tottenham, which expires in the summer of 2024.
