Liverpool are expected to be busy in the upcoming transfer window and they have reportedly slapped a £62million price tag on one star who could leave the club.

Jurgen Klopp’s side haven’t been at their best this season, but their 7-0 hammering of Manchester United was a reminder of how ruthless they can be.

Liverpool have already been linked to several players ahead of the summer window, with a midfield rebuild on the horizon.

As is often the case at Anfield though, they like to make back what they are spending and so some notable players could depart.

Diogo Jota’s future has recently been discussed as a fresh report has claimed that Liverpool would demand £62million for him in the summer.

Football Transfers claim that the Portuguese forward ‘could leave’ in the summer as Klopp is now happy with his trio of Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez.

Jota has been a popular player at Anfield since his arrival in 2020 from Wolves.

Liverpool paid a reported fee of £45million for the forward and they are likely to want a healthy return on their investment if they do choose to cash in.

The 26-year-old has scored 34 goals across the 99 games he has played for Liverpool, but he is yet to score this season.

Injuries have hampered his playing time this season as he has made just four starts in the league.

Jota recently opened up about the injury which kept him sidelined for around four months of the season.

“I had a strange calf injury,” Jota explained (via Echo). “They said to me they haven’t seen it before, most of the people, so we needed to ask for the help of some specialists as well to try and get over it and of course to give it a little bit more time because of the complexity and just to be safe.

“But yes, it was very hard, a long time. The results, to be honest, didn’t help as well so it was very frustrating to see things happening and not be able to help in any way – well apart from the dressing-room talks, but not on the field.

“Like I said, I felt good on the pitch at Crystal Palace and I feel improvement in each game I have. Hopefully I can have more impact on the team because I know we need goals and I want to contribute to the goals as well.”

Jota adds great versatility to Klopp’s squad as he can play through the middle or on the left-hand side.

With Roberto Firmino set to depart the club at the end of the season, there could be plenty of moving parts at Anfield over the summer.
