St. Louis CITY SC Wins First-Ever Match at CITYPARK

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis CITY SC opened CITYPARK in style, earning a come-from behind 3-1 win over Charlotte FC. An own goal by Bill Tuiloma, a penalty from Eduard Löwen and classy finish from striker João Klauss ensured that CITY SC recorded a victory in their first-ever match at CITYPARK. With the win, CITY SC became the fourth expansion team in MLS history to win its first two matches, with the other teams achieving such feat being Chicago Fire in 1998, Seattle Sounders in 2009 and most recently LAFC in 2018.


CITYPARK Win!

CITYPARK was buzzing on the night, as the players gave the fans three goals to cheer for. On a night where the weather played its part, all 22,423 fans in the stadium created an electric atmosphere.

Comeback Kings

CITY SC rallied from a goal down to record their second win of their early MLS season. Enzo Copetti gave the visitors the lead before an own goal, and a Löwen penalty put the team up 2-1 at halftime.

Klauss on the scoresheet, again!

St. Louis CITY SC Designated Player and forward João Klauss found the back of the net for the second game in a row to put the host in the driving seat late in the match. Klauss capitalized on the goalkeeper’s pass before chipping the ball in the net to make it 3-1.

The goals keep coming

For the second game in a row, CITY SC put three past their opponents. After last weekend’s impressive 3-2 win in Austin, CITY SC were able to add three different goal scorers on the night. CITY SC made history, becoming the first team in league history to score at least three goals in each of its first two games in club history.
