Wiesner Will Travel to France with the U.S. Under-23 Women's Youth National Team


CHICAGO, Ill.- Penn State women’s soccer’s Kate Wiesner is on the U.S. Under-23 Women’s Youth National Team roster traveling to France for two matches and training from Feb. 12-21.
 
The roster consists of eight professional soccer players and 12 collegiate athletes. The squad will travel to Paris, France for training and two games, on Feb. 17 and 20 at Clairefontaine, France’s National Training Center.
 
Wiesner is a familiar face among the Youth U.S. National Teams, playing at the U-15, U-17, U-19 and U-23 levels. The senior has vast experience playing internationally. She was a member of the 2016 U-17 Women’s World Cup Team in Jordan, she rostered on the U-17 USWNT that won the 2017 Torneo Femminile Delle Nazioni Tornament and has been a member of the USWNT squads for the last several CONCACAF World Cup Qualifiers at the U-17 level. 
 
The defender had another dominant season as a Nittany Lions this year. She helped lead her team to win the Big Ten Championship, starting in 22 games. She also led the Big Ten in assists (11) and scored two goals including a game-winner. Wiesner earned Academic All-Big Ten for the third consecutive season as well as CoSIDA Academic All-District.
