FC Cincinnati Announce Roster for 2023 Preseason

CLEARWATER, Fla. – FC Cincinnati scored three second-half goals on Wednesday afternoon to down the University of South Florida Men’s Soccer team 3-0 at Walter Campbell Sports Complex in Clearwater, Fla.


The two sides played a traditional 90-minute match, with two separate teams of 11 taking the pitch for the Orange and Blue in the two halves. The first half finished even at zero, with both teams creating a few chances in the hot Florida sun.

The second half started brightly for FC Cincinnati, with Álvaro Barreal darting down the left side of the pitch, beating his defender and thundering home a goal from a tight angle in the 49th minute. Arquimides Ordoñez doubled the lead in the 77th minute following an interception from Obinna Nwobodo in the attacking third. The Nigerian played a pass to Sergio Santos, while Santos deftly flicked a ball through to Ordoñez, who finished the play off.

Stiven Jimenez capped off the victory with his first professional goal. The 15-year-old midfielder placed a diving header from eight yards out into the far corner in the 85th minute.

FC Cincinnati’s next preseason game comes on Feb. 10 against Philadelphia Union.
