Borussia Dortmund boss Edin Terzic is urging Jude Bellingham to reject interest from Liverpool and Real Madrid to stay in Germany.

England midfielder Bellingham has been subject of high-profile interest form numerous clubs across Europe, with Real Madrid, Manchester City and Liverpool thought to be among the front-runners for the youngster’s services.

The 19-year-old has also reportedly held crunch talks with the Bundesliga side over his next move since returning from the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Dortmund have sold key players such as Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland over the last two summers and they’ll be hoping they can avoid it being three summers in a row that they’ve been forced to sell.

Boss Terzic is eager for Bellingham to buck that trend to remain at the club and help them push them on, rather than depart.

‘I believe that we need to work on keeping these young guys one year longer,’ Terzic told The Athletic

‘That was also partly due to COVID-19 and empty stadiums, there were financial considerations.

‘But if we can get to the point where it’s two or three years of such a trio, maybe we can break the mould.’

Bellingham’s current contract runs until the end of the 2024-25 season, but it has grown increasingly likely that he is on his way out of Signal Iduna Park.

The midfielder has nine goals and three assists in 22 club appearances – captaining the side at times along the way – and he also scored England’s opening World Cup goal against Iran in Qatar.

Bellingham will return to action for the first time since impressing at the World Cup this weekend, when the Bundesliga resumes following their extended winter…
