The Story:

Orlando City has made a habit of coming from behind to steal points recently. Duncan McGuire’s game-winner against D.C. United and Iván Angulo’s game-tying goal against CF Montréal both came in second-half stoppage time. New York Red Bulls’ Noah Eile conceded an own goal as well, which gave the Lions five points from losing positions in the 89th minute or later in their last three matches.

The Lions have gotten the better of Toronto FC since Head Coach Oscar Pareja took over in 2020. Orlando City holds a 6-0-1 record over the Reds since that time, including four straight wins with an aggregate score of 11-0.

Facundo Torres’ next goal will be his 32nd across all competitions, giving him sole possession of second all-time in Orlando City history. Duncan McGuire’s next goal will be his 20th for Orlando City, taking him past former Lions Daryl Dike and Benji Michel for sole possession of eighth all-time in Club history.

Quote of the Week:

“Looks like we’re getting more cohesiveness with the boys and they’re gluing more things together. We’re reviewing things and have done in prior games, but since we’re not getting results it seems like it’s not happening. In the end, you have to win games, you have to get results, so the good things get magnified and the things that aren’t being done well, seem like you need more time to fix it. It’s indeed important to get results.”

-Head Coach Oscar Pareja
