Fans slam SBS coverage of Australia’s World Cup clash with France – branding it ‘torture’ and ‘laughable’ as Socceroos legend Harry Kewell gets savaged: ‘My four-year-old offers more than him’

Football fans who rose early to see the Socceroos dismantled by France loved Craig Goodwin’s wonder strike that gave the Aussies a shock early lead, but many were far from impressed with the coverage provided by broadcaster SBS.

Supporters took to Twitter throughout the contest to vent at the commentary team as Graham Arnold’s side lost their early lead to a French onslaught that saw them score two goals in five minutes to put their noses in front, then extend the gap with some brilliant football.

The SBS commentary team features Socceroos legends Craig Foster, Mark Bosnich and Harry Kewell, with the latter coming in for some rough treatment online.

‘My 4 year old is just shouting SOCCER SOCCER SOCCER but still offers more than Harry Kewell on commentary,’ tweeted Tim Beech.
