Star forward Ronaldo gave an explosive interview with Piers Morgan on Sunday, in which he accused the club of ‘betraying’ him and revealed his lack of ‘respect’ for current boss Erik ten Hag, with the move prompting chaos at Old Trafford.
And former United striker Sheringham, speaking exclusively to Sportsmail ahead of working with Budweiser’s Official England Watch Parties, added that it is ‘definitely time’ for the Portuguese veteran to leave – immediately.

And iconic former United striker Sheringham (pictured), speaking exclusively to Sportsmail, added it is ‘definitely time for him to go now’ after the Portuguese veteran’s latest outburst
He said: ‘He’s using words like ‘disrespected’ and him disrespecting the manager. When you come out with these things, there are going to be a lot of unhappy Man United supporters this morning reading all this.
‘It’s definitely, definitely, time for him to go now. There’s no turning back. He should have gone at the start of the season, he didn’t, they tried to work with it. Obviously his body language hasn’t been great – I think he needs to go now.’
Ronaldo’s astonishing attack looks certain to end his Old Trafford career. He accused Ten Hag and United executives of trying to force him out of the club, saying of Ten Hag: ‘I don’t have respect for him because he doesn’t show respect for me.
‘Some people, they don’t want me here – not only the coach but the other two or three guys. Not only this year, but last year too. Honestly, I shouldn’t say that. But listen, I don’t care. People should listen to the truth. Yes, I feel betrayed.’
