BRUINS RETURN HOME TO HOST ARIZONA SCHOOLS

No. 1-ranked UCLA (11-0-0, 3-0-0 in the Pac-12) returns home for a two-game homestand against the Arizona schools. The Bruins will host Arizona State (6-1-2, 2-1-0) on Thursday, Oct. 6 at 7pm before welcoming Arizona (3-5-2, 0-3-0) on Sunday, Oct. 9 at 2pm.

PERFECT START

With a perfect 11-0-0 record, UCLA has matched its best start in school history, tying with the 2001 squad that won its first 11 before falling to Santa Clara on the road on Oct. 18. The Bruins have won at least their first eight games in each of the last three seasons. UCLA remains the only team in NCAA Division I women’s soccer with an unblemished mark.

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO BE NUMBER ONE

For the fifth consecutive week, UCLA ranks No. 1 in the United Soccer Coaches poll and the Top Drawer Soccer poll. The Bruins are also ranked No. 1 in the NCAA RPI. The last time UCLA held the top spot in the United Soccer Coaches poll prior to this season was 2017, when the Bruins were No. 1 for five weeks from Sept. 5-Oct. 3. UCLA’s Sept. 4 win over No. 1 North Carolina was its second ever over a top-ranked team and second in a row after beating No. 1 Florida State on Aug. 29, 2019.
