Tottenham attacker Bryan Gil has been left ‘broken’ after his deadline day move to Valencia collapsed, according to reports.
The Spaniard moved to Spurs in 2021 as part of a swap deal for Erik Lamela which saw the north Londoners pay £21.6m for his services.
It has not quite gone to plan at Tottenham for Gil, who has made just 20 appearances in total since making the move to the Premier League.

Gil made the switch on loan to Valencia at the back end of last season after playing just 85 minutes over nine Premier League matches for Tottenham.
And now Gil must be worried that he faces the same amount of playing time again this season after Spurs strengthened heavily in the summer transfer window.
One El Chiringuito TV journalist claimed Gil was ‘broken’ on Thursday after a potential loan move back to Valencia was scuppered with Spurs failing to bring in a replacement in time.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy and manager Antonio Conte ‘closed the door’ on his exit, according to Super Deporte (via Sport Witness), once they realised they needed him as a back-up option with Valencia signing Justin Kluivert on loan from Roma instead.
Spurs are still unbeaten after five matches of the new Premier League season following a 1-1 draw against West Ham in midweek and Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris thinks there is “still room to improve”.
“There is a mix of feelings after that game, but if we look on the positive side, we’re still unbeaten,” Lloris said.
“The way we conceded is frustrating. From the throw-in, we had to switch on quicker and the first 10 minutes of the second half the tempo was a bit strange. We know that if we want to do better than the last few seasons it’s all about details, to keep the focus very high.
“There is still room to improve and be better but if we compare to where we were last season, we stepped up but it’s not enough.
“We have to carry on, continue our work. It’s a long season and we need to consider that point. It’s still a point against West Ham. The best way is like the Chelsea (draw), to give credit to a point is to win the next game.”
On new signing Richarlison’s performances, Lloris added: “He’s still looking for his first goal, he’s an offensive player and they need the confidence and the confidence they get only by scoring goals.
