Union Omaha to Sign Unified Soccer Series Team Friday

Omaha Notches Second Straight Road Win at FC Tucson

PAPILLION, Neb. (June 27, 2022) – Union Omaha, in partnership with Special Olympics Nebraska, will be signing members to its inaugural Unified soccer team Friday, July 1 at 5 p.m. with a special Media Day event. This event will be open to the public and held in Ballpark Way at Werner Park. The entrance is to the right of Gate One at the corner of Sarpy Tourism and Ballpark Way. Members signed to Union Omaha’s Unified team will play in two matches, scheduled for July 26 in Madison and August 21 in Omaha, surrounding the League One matchups between Union Omaha and Forward Madison.


The Unified Soccer Series, established in 2022 by Union Omaha and Forward Madison FC in conjunction with Special Olympics Nebraska and Special Olympics Wisconsin, is the first of its kind within the United Soccer League (USL). It focuses on using sports training and competition to promote social inclusion for those with and without intellectual disabilities and provides Unified players the chance to play on the same pitch as their partner teams.
