Albert Sambi Lokonga has no intention of leaving Arsenal this summer and views his first season in English football positively, according to his elder brother.

The 22-year-old joined the Gunners from Anderlecht in an £18million deal last summer after a strong couple of seasons under Vincent Kompany in Belgium.

But despite a bright start to life in north London, the midfielder has started just 12 Premier League games this season, completing 90 top-flight minutes just three times in 2022.

However, Paul-Jose M’Poku insists competition for places in Mikel Arteta’s team and the time it took some of Lokonga’s high-profile Belgium team-mates to settle in the Premier League means they remain calm about his situation.

‘We’re not worried,’ M’Poku told Belgian outlet RTBF.

‘Other players like Kevin De Bruyne or Romelu Lukaku have also taken time to establish themselves in the English Premier League. The difference with the Belgian league is big, and Arsenal is not a mid-table club.
