Thomas Frank sets new Brentford target as ‘impressive’ star helps pull off ‘biggest result of season’

Thomas Frank Brentford 2022 TEAMtalk1

A proud Thomas Frank hailed his side’s ‘best’ result after Brentford beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and is now hoping to push on up the table.

The game was scoreless at half-time but Vitaly Janelt scored twice after the interval, either side of Christian Eriksen’s first Brentford goal.

Yoane Wissa rounded off the scoring last on after Antonio Rudiger has given the Blues the lead just after the resumption. It was an amazing result and not one that many people predicted prior to kick-off.

The result leaves the Bees on 33 points while Chelsea’s grip on third place is now under threat from Arsenal. Frank admitted to being in dreamland after the final whistle.

“I am still [pinching myself] a bit. I said in the pre-match press conference if we beat them it would be the biggest result of the season and we’ve gone and done it,” he told Sky Sports.

“It’s maybe not a 4-1 win but it’s fully deserved. It was a top performance and I’m extremely proud. There is so much pain in football so it’s important the fans enjoy this.”
