Spezia manager Luca Gotti has admitted his frustration over Jakub Kiwior’s imminent move to Arsenal.
The Poland international is expected to join Mikel Arteta‘s title chasers soon in a move worth around £17.5million, and could be in attendance at the Emirates when Arsenal take on Manchester United on Sunday.
Gotti, however, claimed that he ‘cannot be happy with the move’, despite the chance for the player to progress his career and the club record fee set to be received by Spezia.

The defender is expected to sign for Arsenal in a deal worth around £17.5million next week
He said: ‘I’m very happy for Kiwior and this opportunity he created for himself. It is also the biggest sale in Spezia’s history and I imagine the club is happy with that too.
‘However, I can’t be happy with it. There are coaches who constantly complain and ask for reinforcements – that is not me, but I am often in a situation where my clubs sell at a big profit.’
Kiwior only joined the Serie A side in 2021, signing a four-year deal, but has excelled during his time in Italy.

He is a left-sided centre-back that will provide cover for the Gunners in both defence and midfield, and is expected to join up with the squad next week, becoming the club’s second signing of the January transfer window following the arrival of Leandro Trossard from Brighton.
While Arsenal will be pleased with their business, Gotti admitted the sale was ‘frustrating’, given he has lost one of his key players.
