Scouting LSU
Thursday’s match will mark the first time the Utes and Tigers have ever met, as well as Utah’s first road matchup with an SEC squad since they visited Alabama in 2019. LSU has gotten off a 3-1 start in 2024, the second straight year they’ve reached that mark through four games, and they’ll be hosting the Utes following back-to-back wins over UMass Lowell and Old Dominion.

Coach Sian Hudson is in her fifth season at the helm of the LSU program and has taken the program to the NCAA Tournament in each of the last three years. Hudson’s 2024 roster benefited from the return of 2023 All-SEC selection Ava Galligan, as well as the addition of nine freshmen and three transfers. Galligan has already tallied a pair of goals for the Tigers so far in 2024, as have newcomer Jazmin Ferguson and junior Ida Hermannsdottir. In goal, another new face has taken hold of the starting job and sophomore keeper Audur Scheving already has two clean sheets to her credit in her first campaign in Baton Rouge.

Scouting Utah Valley
In 2023, the Wolverines visited Ute Field for the first clash between UVU and Utah since 2016 and the Utes remained undefeated in the all-time series with a dominant 5-0 victory. Kelly Bullock touched off the scoring frenzy in the third minute and Utah piled on after that for their most lopsided triumph of 2023. In goal, Kasey Wardle kept the sheet clean by stopped all seven shots sent in her direction.
