Calgary, AB – THE biggest party in Canadian soccer continues tomorrow at ATCO Field when Cavalry FC shoot for victory over Major League Soccer bigwigs Vancouver Whitecaps FC.

Tickets are selling fast for what is expected to be a ‘dynamite clash’ here in Calgary between the Cavs and the Whitecaps, who set Vancouver ablaze this weekend with their record-breaking 50th anniversary match.

The Whitecaps played Austin FC in front of more than 32,000 fans, the most to ever watch them play in BC Place, ending in a scoreless draw.

Now Cavalry is aiming for a record-setting home crowd of their own as they take on the Whitecaps for just the fourth time in their history, fresh off the back of a massive win against Canadian Premier League side Vancouver FC last Friday.

Cavalry celebrated the 5th anniversary of their first-ever match – as well as General Manager and Head Coach Tommy Wheeldon Jr.’s 45th birthday – with a thrilling 3-1 victory.

The Cavs plan to use that success to fuel their fight against the Whitecaps tomorrow night in what will be first leg of the TELUS Canadian Championship quarter-final.

They aim to put on a memorable match which fans will never forget, kicking off at 7pm, home at Spruce Meadows – now easier and faster than ever to get to following completion of the Southwest Calgary Ring Road.

Mason Trafford, Cavalry Commercial Director, and former team captain said: “We were back on top form on Friday night, with a strong performance against Vancouver FC.

“It was a great result and gives us some momentum as we prepare to take on the Whitecaps.

“Tuesday night will be a match for the fans; a dynamite clash between the two best soccer teams in western Canada.

“It’s a massive event for Albertan soccer. Whether you’re a die-hard fan or just looking to celebrate our home-grown talent in an incredible atmosphere, this is a game that may only come around once every couple of years. You don’t want to miss this one.”

Tickets for Tuesday’s game are selling fast but still available on the Cavalry FC website and Ticketmaster .

The game starts at 7pm at ATCO Field on the grounds of Spruce Meadows in southwest Calgary. Parking is free.
