Atletico Ottawa News Release

OTTAWA, ON – Atlético Ottawa’s TELUS Canadian Championship journey continues this Wednesday night as Pacific FC travels to TD Place for the first leg of the quarter-finals (KO 7pm ET, live OneSoccer). The return leg is set to be played at the end of the month, with the team progressing set to face the winner for Cavalry FC (CPL) and Vancouver Whitecaps (MLS) in the semi-finals.

Here’s everything you need to know before Wednesday’s clash in Ottawa.

Atlético Ottawa is unbeaten in all competitions at the start of the 2024 season (4-1-0).

Atlético beat Valour FC twice in four days, with a record-setting 7-0 victory in the TELUS Canadian Championship preliminary round followed by a 2-0 win on Sunday in the Canadian Premier League (CPL).

Striker Rubén del Campo is in red-hot form, scoring four (4) goals in his last three matches (all comps).

Sunday’s victory sent Atlético to the top of the CPL table (3-1-0).

Atlético trio Nathan Ingham (goalkeeper and captain), Amer Didić (defender) and Del Campo (striker) were named to the CPL ‘Team of the Week’.

This was Ingham and Del Campo’s first appearance whilst it was Didić’s second on the season.

This is the quarter-finals of the TELUS Canadian Championship, with Atlético Ottawa and Pacific one of four matches to be played over two legs in May.

Atlético hosts on Wednesday, whilst Pacific FC receives Ottawa on May 29 in the return leg.

The side with the highest aggregate score over the two matches will progress to the semi-finals.

Should the aggregate score end in a tie, the team with the most goals scored away from home will progress.

Should this not determine a winner, the match will head to a penalty shoot-out.

Vancouver Whitecaps (MLS) and Cavalry FC (CPL) face off in the adjoining quarter-final bracket.

Pacific FC is also undefeated in all competitions so far this season (3-2-0).

The only goal Pacific has conceded this year was in the TELUS Candian Championship preliminary round against League1 BC side TSS Rovers.

The match ended 1-1 with Pacific narrowly advancing on penalties.

In the CPL Pacific has a record of 3-1-0 with 5 goals scored and 0 conceded.

Record head-to-head (all-time): 4W-5D-5L; 15 goals scored, 18 goals conceded.
