In an enthralling encounter marking the commencement of the USL Jagermeister Cup’s first round, Spokane Velocity and Central Valley Fuego FC collided in a spectacle of soccer prowess. With the two teams meeting for the first time on the pitch, anticipation soared as fans braced themselves for a clash of titans.
The game exploded into action from the onset, with intensity reverberating through every pass and tackle. In the 11th minute, Fuego’s Clayton Torr found his name etched into the referee’s book for a reckless challenge, setting the stage for a fiercely contested match. Moments later, Chris Heckenberg of Fuego FC joined him in the book, receiving a caution for a tactical foul.
However, it was Spokane Velocity who seized the initiative in the 20th minute, igniting jubilant celebrations among the home faithful. Pierre Reedy etched his name into the annals of the USL Jagermeister Cup by notching the tournament’s inaugural goal, courtesy of a sublime assist from J. Dolling.

Despite valiant efforts from both sides, it was Central Valley Fuego FC who emerged triumphant, clinching a 4-2 victory in the shootout. Clinical finishes from Raúl Mendiola, Robert Coronado, Shavon John-Brown and Zahir Vazquez propelled Fuego to victory, sealing their passage to the next round of the USL Jagermeister Cup.
