Fulham vs Liverpool: Preview, predictions and lineups

Marco Silva

Liverpool travel to Fulham on Sunday afternoon hoping to preserve their Premier League title hopes.

The Reds exited the Europa League on Thursday despite claiming an away win over Atalanta. They briefly threatened a vintage comeback having succumbed to a 3-0 defeat at Anfield the week before, but Liverpool struggled to lay a glove on Gian Piero Gasperini’s side after taking an early lead.

The Merseysiders can now put all their energy into the Premier League, although it’s going to take a huge effort to see them usurp Manchester City at the summit. City climbed to the top of the table last weekend after Liverpool were beaten at home by Crystal Palace.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are more than familiar with Marco Silva’s Fulham, having faced them in the Carabao Cup semi-finals. The Cottagers have played Liverpool close this season, barely losing at Anfield, and they’ve impressed on home soil, toppling both Tottenham and Arsenal in west London.

They’re primed for a mid-table finish, although a late push for a European place isn’t out of the realm of possibility.

Here’s 90min’s preview of Sunday’s Premier League clash at Craven Cottage.

Silva has a full complement of players to select from on Sunday, with his squad also benefitting from a full week’s rest heading into this one.

The Fulham manager is unlikely to make many, if any, changes from the team that won 2-0 away at West Ham last Sunday.

The Cottagers’ XI picks itself.

Fulham predicted lineup vs Liverpool (4-2-3-1): Leno; Castagne, Tosin, Bassey, Robinson; Palhinha, Lukic; Iwobi, Pereira, Willian; Muniz.
